Joie's Outrageous
    Chocolate Cake

    2 cups sugar
    3 cups flour
    1/3 cup cocoa
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsps. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 Tbsps. vinegar
    3/4 cup cooking oil
    2 cups warm water

    Frosting:

    4 tbsps. flour
    3/4 cup milk
    3/4 cup margarine
    3/4 cup sugar

    Fudge Sauce:

    3 Tbsps. cocoa
    3 Tbsps. white syrup
    3/4 cup margarine
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/4 cup milk

Cake Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Stir cake ingredients just until blended. Don't overmix!
  • Bake in a 11" X 16" cake pan for 25 minutes or until ltoothpick inderted in center of cake comes out clean.

Frosting Directions

  • Cook the flour and milk to a smooth paste over low heat.
  • Cool.
  • Beat the sugar-margarine mixture into the cooled paste.
  • Spread on cooled cake.

Fudge Sauce Directions

  • Bring ingredients to a boil and boil for 3 minutes.
  • Whisk continuously while cooling over ice.
  • The sauce should be the consistency of caramel aand impossible to drizzle.
  • Drizzle over frosting.

Note

  • Boiling the sauce for only 2 minutes will yield chocolate fudge for ice cream sundies.
